Coincidence? I Think Not! You’re on the Right Path

Sometimes you feel that everything you're doing and all the effort you're giving is heading you nowhere. Sometimes you feel like all the forces on Earth are combining against you and trying their hardest to beat you down. Sometimes, right when you finally feel like you're getting the hand of how to ride this bike, life comes and pushes you back down.

I came across this article by Chris Assaad today and wanted to share it (with a few format adjustments for emphasis). I felt like it REALLY was talking to me. There is no such thing as coincidences. You are on the right path! Don't ever give up hope.

Black and White arrow sign painted on tree trunk
Hey you! Yes, I mean YOU!

What if I told you that this blog was written especially for you? Would you believe me? Maybe. Maybe not. That’s okay, we’ve only just met. But here’s the thing: I know that right now, in this moment, by some miracle, of all the places you could be and of all the things you could be doing, you are reading this blog. You are spending your time with me. That makes me happy. And since we are here, I want to invite you to consider the possibility that it’s not an accident or a coincidence.

Life and the Universe have a funny way of bringing us to the exact people, places, circumstances, and messages that our souls are calling for at the right time. It could be a phone call from a long-lost friend we’ve been thinking about, a timely financial windfall when we need it most, a seemingly random meeting at a social event that leads to the perfect job opportunity, or a poignant bumper sticker—the possibilities are endless.

This phenomenon of seemingly meaningful coincidences is called synchronicity. It’s like a wink from the cosmos, a nudge from above to let us know that we’re on the right path and that we’re supported in the pursuit of our dreams and highest aspirations.

When it comes to synchronicity, we do have a part to play and the all-important variable that we are in control of is FAITH. We have to BELIEVE that our dreams are real. We have to TRUST that anything is possible. We have to KNOW that every little action we take on behalf of our dreams is supported by unseen forces that are working for us and with us. Even when times get tough and all signs point to giving up, we have to dig deeper and find the faith to keep going.

When our faith is strong, it colors our perceptions and allows us to see the interconnectedness of everything in our lives, even in our most challenging moments. We begin to understand that there’s a reason for the way our life is unfolding even though it may not always be immediately apparent. A job lost creates space for a better job. A relationship ending gives way to a new beginning and a chance for big love. A resounding “NO” means there’s an even more exciting “YES” coming our way.

... ...

When we tune in to the synchronicity of life, when we look with the eyes of faith and listen with the ears of trust, we begin to experience the undeniable truth that we are all connected, that there is rhyme and reason to the way life flows, and that each and every one of us is accounted for. We begin to know without a doubt that we ALL have something special and unique to offer the world. We begin to see clearly that the more we act on our dreams and vision for our lives, the more we will be helped by forces much greater than we are.

So today, right now, in this moment, I want to tell YOU that your dreams are real and that YOU have something special to offer the world that nobody else has. The path you are traveling may be the more challenging one but don’t lose faith, don’t listen to the doubters, don’t let setbacks keep you down—and most of all, don’t give up. Keep at it and you will be guided and supported. Keep taking action toward what you believe in and tune in to the beautiful synchronicities that come to your aid and encourage you along the way. You are on the right path!

Thanks for spending time with me. I really did write this blog for YOU

Dance

I Hope You Dance
by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger.
May you never take one single breath for granted.
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed.

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens.
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance.
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

I hope you dance.
I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance.
Never settle for the path of least resistance.
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'.
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'.

Don't let some hellbent heart leave you bitter.
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider.
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance.
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

I hope you dance.
I hope you dance.
Time is a wheel in constant motion, always rolling us along
I hope you dance.
I hope you dance.
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens.
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance.
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

Dance

Time is a wheel in constant motion, always rolling us along
I hope you dance.
I hope you dance.
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?

Another Beautiful Day

Sunshine, clouds, river, rain.
All things come from the sky.
When overhead you see a horizon,
Behind you the past flies by.

Memories can be roses,
That pierce and sting.
Or they can be the harmonies,
That make you want to sing.

As a beautiful day is experienced,
You want it never to dwindle,
But sometimes a beautiful day
Is only meant to last for a little.

Rain pouring, river flowing.
A flower wanting to grow.
Held in hands of worry,
In fear of letting go.

Emotion astir, a fever, a blur,
Fire surrounding and burning high.
What seems like forever in misery,
Is only a second in Heaven's eye.

A bird isn't meant to be in a cage,
But to fly in the open blue.
When overhead you see a horizon,
Another beautiful day is coming to you.

Two Wolves Inside Us All

Someone told me this story a long time ago. I will never forget the eternal principal it teaches: what you focus on the most is what you develop the most.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

“One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

“The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

A Rose Created

This poem of mine was written back in 2006 when I was going through a rough time. It was a good friend of mine that helped me out of the darkness and into the light. I didn't have as much Spirit. I wasn't happy. I was constantly trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn't until I realized the help this friend of mine was giving me that I was able to take the pain and the misery and turn it into growth and gain.

A rose created.

                       From the dust,
                            From the ground.

Appeared,
     Light,
             Sunshine.
As if from all around,

Like a lamp,
Like a candle.
Something to hold.
Like a handle.

A handle to a door
Full of mystery,
Full of cause.

Appeared,
       Light,
               Sunshine.
Something there for me to see.
Something there for me to be;
                      To grow from,
                      To learn from.
Something there that’s meant to be.

A light, there, that created a pain;
                        Created a sore;
Something there I had to bear.
Created a world of misery and gain.

This by an absence;
           A loss,
           A tear.
Seeing light not there
Is darkness you stare.

From the dark you search for light.
You search for something there
To guide you through the night.
To help you through your struggles;
To help you with what you fight.
To lead you to victory; to triumph.
To lead you through the darkness of the night.

Appeared,
          Light,
                  Sunshine.
Appeared a dove
As if without a sound.
On my shoulder it sat
Guiding me to safe and sound,
                         From the dust,
                              From the ground.

A rose created from a dove I found.
Like an angel it appeared,
                                     Showing me the way
From pain, to rain;
From misery, to gain.

Something there for me to see.
Something there for me to be.
Something I wouldn’t have seen before
Weren’t it for a light that shined.
Shined on a handle to an, oh so beautiful, door.

A door full of mystery.
A door for me to see.
A door full of cause.
A door that’s meant to be;

From which to learn;
From which to grow.
Full of many things of which to show.
To show how wonderful this life can be
When all that’s learned and meant,
                      You see.

  How wondrous is the rain!
Sent from clouds above to heal the pain.

How beautiful are the trees.
                                    So much growth,
                                 So much green.
So many feathers, like a dove, are seen.

How beautiful is a dove.
                              So much light.
                                So much shine.

From so much beauty;
A guide through the night,
A leader trough a tremendous fight.

                               From the dust,
                                  From the ground
All is lost, all is found.

From so much beauty, a dove, created light.
Through the darkness of the night.
A rose created,
              A rose,
                   A light.

If Today Was Your Last Day

This song from Nickelback always inspires me to think about the things I need to do today, instead of worry about what I need/want to do tomorrow, or what I should/could have done yesterday. Too much we get caught up in our not-wanted pasts and hoped-for futures and forget about the needed todays.

My best friend gave me the best advice.
He said each day's a gift and not a given right.
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind,
And try to take the path less traveled by.
That first step you take is the longest stride.

If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day.

Against the grain should be a way of life.
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight.
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try.
So live like you'll never live it twice.
Don't take the free ride in your own life.

If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce of memories.
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love.
If today was your last day.

If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are.
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life.
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side.

If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce of memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day.

Enemy of My Soul

Approaches, the enemy of my soul.
Sword in hand I prepare to fight.
Lunges forward, the adversary of my soul
To send my spirit to the darkness of the night.

CHING! CLASH! BASH! SHANK!
Pierces my skin, the master of the night.
He steps back as I observe the wound.
The enemy thinks he has won the fight.

Lunging at him I strike. CHING!
He blocks my attack as I keep up the fight.
This adversary will never win the battle.
For I will fight with all my might!

CHING! STAB! PUSH! CLASH!
Striking down the enemy, I thrust
My Sword of Righteousness, THRASH!
The enemy falls to the ground, like he must.

I turn away and start to walk away,
Thinking I have won the war.
I see movement and hear him say,
“I am stronger than you! I have more power!”

At first I fought a man with cunning ways.
Now I face a monster that won’t ever stop.
At first I thought evil could be defeated.
Now I know my sword must never drop.

The CHING of battle must always be heard.
As long as I live, so does the master of the night.
Every sunrise will always be followed by a sunset.
Every day will always be followed by night.

Tho’ I get beat down, and torn apart,
My soul will forever endure the call.
Tho’ the enemy of my soul will never depart,
My Sword of Righteousness will never fall.
